2025 Summer Enrichment Camps

Learn new skills in these fun and interactive camps!

When: July 7 – August 28

Where: Corvallis Community Center (C3), 2601 NW Tyler Ave, Corvallis.

There’s a camp here for every age groups, K-12, and different interests.

Work with our tutors in a group environment for different enrichment and skills based camps.

Each camp runs three hours per day for one week. Camps will run Monday – Thursday and a snack will be provided.

July 7 – July 10: Creative Writing – Write a Story! (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

July 14 – July 17: Fantasy – Experience Magic (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

July. 21 – July. 24: Science Fiction – Androids, Robots, and AI ( 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

July 28 – July 31: Theater Arts – All the Worlds’ a Stage (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Aug. 4 – Aug. 7: Science – Hands-on Science Fun (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

Aug. 11 – Aug. 14: Art Intro – The Creative Spark (9 a.m. –  12 p.m.)

Aug. 11 – Aug. 14: Art Theory – The Inspired Practice (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Aug. 18 – Aug. 21: Basic Math – Making Math Fun! (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

Aug. 25 – Aug. 28: Back to School – Start Well (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

 

Camp Details

July 7 – July 10

(1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Creative Writing – Write a Story!

We will start with the oral story telling tradition and then explore various genres of short stories age appropriate for middle school students through written and short film mediums.

Students will engage in fun small group and whole group activities to learn some techniques for creative writing.

By the end of the camp, students will have written a short story of less than 5 pages to share with the group.

Students will have the option of illustrating their story if desired.

July 14 – July 17

(1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Fantasy – Experience Magic

Unicorns, Wizards, and Dragons-oh my! Explore the world of fantasy through art, short stories, games, and film. We will start with discussion of classic fairy tales and work into more modern popular works.

Students are encouraged to dress up like their favorite fantasy character.  This camp is designed for students Grade 4-8th.

 

July. 21 – July. 24

(1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Science Fiction – Androids, Robots, and AI

Delve into the future by exploring the predictions about technology through science fiction with short stories and short films.

Ray Bradbury and Isaac Asimov will be some of the featured authors. This course is designed for middle school students and will foster critical thinking along with imagination.

Students will have the opportunity if desired to write their own science fiction or create a page of science fiction art.

 

July 28 – July 31

(1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Theater Arts – All the Worlds’ a Stage

(Middle School)

Learn some basic theater terminology and etiquette.

Have fun practicing acting skills through improv activities and reader’s theater using children’s plays.

Students will learn some acting basics and build self-confidence.

 

Aug. 4 – Aug. 7

(9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

Science – Hands-on Science Fun

(Middle School)

Experience the joys of science in new ways!

Explore science in a hand-on interactive way with 4 days/12 hours of science experiments and project creation.

All materials will be provided but bring your curiosity. More info to come.

 

Aug. 11 – Aug. 14

(9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

Art Intro – The Creative Spark

(Grades 1-4)

A journey into imagination, types of art, and discovering your artistic voice.

Nurture creativity in younger artists by dabbling into different mediums of art.

Each day will feature a new art project using various mediums around a central theme.

Bring your individual creativity! There will be 4 total creations to come home! Materials will be provided. More details to come.

 

Aug. 11 – Aug. 14

(1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Art Theory – The Inspired Practice

(Grades 4 – 8)

A deeper dive into the why of art — merging thought, theory, and personal vision.

The budding artist will have the opportunity to explore art theory, art history, and expression.

Each artist will learn the artistic process and preferred medium(s) with hands on experience of a four day art project.

Bring your individual creativity! Cooperation and collaboration will be encouraged. Materials will be provided.  More details to come.

 

Aug. 18 – Aug. 21

(9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

Basic Math – Making Math Fun!

(Grades 3-6)

This interactive math camp will make math fun to reinforce some fundamental math skills in fun, creative, and hands-on ways.

A different math topic will be played with each day: multiplication, analog time/elapsed time, measurements/fractions, and money.

Each day will include a hands-on project or activity, small group math games, and the day will end with a two team “relay” race to see which team can answer the most math questions correctly with a small prize given to the winning team.

Have fun while learning these important math concepts!

 

Aug. 25 – Aug. 28

(1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Back to School – Ready to Learn

(Grades 6-9)

Get ready to head back to school by learning some essential study skills. This course will include learning how to use a daily planner and the one binder system.

Students will be taught how to annotate readings and take good notes. Some fundamental math and grammar skills will be reviewed and more.

A planner and a binder will be provided to each student to carry them into the new school year successfully.
